Maybe you have collected some music files on a USB hard disk, maybe even a lot of music files, actually.
If you take care of backing up that hard disk regularly then you may use the USB drive as the main storage device for the MAN301 without any concerns. (If you care about those music files always make sure to back them up!)

If you like to go for a professional storage solution though, get a NAS unit. NAS units are available with two or more hard disks and can be configured such that a failure of one of the disks does not result in any data loss. This is a big step towards data safety. Backup is still advisable to prevent from accidental erasing, theft, fire etc. though.

There are many NAS units on the market. A particularly interesting one is the Integrita NAS made by the German company Certon. The Integrita is made with the high-end audio user in mind.
